Imam prays to stop ‘oppression and occupation’ at DNC meeting. Not a news story?

The Democratic National Committee during it's winter meeting had a imam speak and read this prayer for the assembled Democrats:

• "We thank you god, to bless us among your creations. We thank you, god, to make us a great nation. We thank you, god toss send us your messages through our father Abraham, and Jesus and Mohammed, through you, god, we unite, so guide us to the right spot we wish for peace, equality and help us to stop the war and violence, and oppression and occupation."

• Have you read about this in your local newspaper? Have you heard about it on NBC News? Probably not.

• But had a Republican meeting featured a prayer from someone saying something like, "help us stop abortion and the homosexual agenda" that probably would have roused the media to some extent.

• It is remarkable that during a time of war that a major American political party in power would tolerate this kind of comment towards our nation and our troops. The silence of both the media and Democrats is disturbing.
